Gerald Phaup Stinson, of Dillwyn, Virginia, passed away Thursday morning, July
24, 2008. He was born in Farmville on May 6, 1946. Gerald was retired from the
Marine Corps and the Boilermaker Local 45. The last few years of his life had
been spent with his family and tending to his farm. He is survived by his wife,
Donna Stinson; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Britt Hopkins; son, John
Stinson; and two granddaughters, Langston and Mary Reeves Hopkins. Family will
receive visitors at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville on Saturday, July 26, from
4 to 6 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Quantico National Cemetery on
Monday, July 28, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
donations be made to the Hospice of Virginia or the American Cancer Society.
